Final Workshop

A final Workshop will take place at University of Fribourg, Switzerland, from 25 to 27th of September 2007.

The aim of this workshop will be to present different results of the evaluation.

Each contributor will have the possibility to present the details of its algorithm.

The workshop location in building "Centre de Formation Continue" is located just in front of the main building "Misericorde" of the University of Fribourg. The workshop location is a 10 min walking distance from the train station and 5 min from the city center. The workshop rooms are all equipped with beamers and wifi connectivity is available.

To reach the workshop location from the train station: From the main exit of the station, make a left along the train station. Make a left to Avenue de Tivoli. At the roundabout make a right in Avenue de l'Europe for about 200 meters (this is the street going up). Go accross the main University building "Misericorde" on your right hand side. Rue de Rome should then be in front of you, cross it and go left 50 meters. The "Centre de Formation Continue" should be on your right hand side.

Getting to Fribourg

Fribourg is centrally located in Switzerland. Connexions by train to the airport of Geneva and the airport of Zurich are very good with trains every half hour.The journey from the airports are approximately taking 1h15 (from Geneva, Zurich or Basel). Local Colors

Café du Midi (1) , Rue de Romont 25, 026 322 31 33. Cheese specialties in a typical local setting. It is sometimes possible to eat sitting outside if the weather allows for it.

Café du Gothard (2) , Rue du Pont-Muré 16/18, 026 322 32 85. This long-standing restaurant is almost an official "institution" of Fribourg where artists enjoy to eat and relax. Located in the old part of the city, two steps away from the Cathedral, this restaurant has been recently renewed but it still keeps its local and artistic feeling. Swiss fondue is one of the specialty of the house.

Aux Tanneurs (3) , Place Petit Saint-Jean 7, 026 322 34 17. Typical "Brasserie" located in the historical down part of the old city ("Basse-Ville"), close to the river Sarine.

Le Commerce (4) , Boulevard de Pérolles 69, 026 424 01 14. Pud / restaurant with a large selection of belgian beers, asiatic dishes, swiss fondue and other typical "brasserie" dishes.

Café populaire (5) , Rue St. Michel 9, 026 321 51 06. Well know from all students. This place offers the best beers and hamburgers of Fribourg.

Lounge feeling

Plaza-lounge (6) , Rue de Lausanne 91, 026 322 21 30. There is a lounge tendance in this restaurant located near the city-center. There is also the possibility to eat outside on a nice terracy.

Auberge aux 4 vents (7) , Grandfey 124, 026 347 36 00. Fine, simple cooking where the phylosophy is to put in evidence the quality of fresh products. The settings is simply wonderful. The restaurant is just outside of the city (2.5 km from the centre). The best way to get there is walking or by taxi.

Le Pingouin (8) , Grand-Places 18, 026 322 77 22. In the center of the city, you can eat fine grilled meat in a modern looking setting.

Italien

Bindella (9) , Rue de Lausanne 38/40, 026 322 49 05. Very fine italian cooking in a classical-looking setting. In the center of Fribourg city, few steps away from the workshop location.

San Marco (10) , Boulevard de Pérolles 18, 026 322 55 57. Good quality for a reasonable pricing in this typical italian restaurant. With its 200 seats, this restaurant will allow you to eat with larger groups of people. Close to the train station.

Molino (11) , Rue de Lausanne 93, 026 322 30 65. Typical italian restaurant, well adapted to welcome larger groups.

International

Le Bel'Asia (13) , Grand-Rue 36, 026 919 20 10. Asian restaurant in the old part of the city. Wonderful view on the valley of Sarine from most of the seats (ask a window seat if possible). This restaurant harmoniously mix different Asian cooking. It is also possible to end your meal in the seventy-platic-looking pub located dowstairs. Closed Sunday and Monday.

El Taco Loco (14) , Rte du Jura 27, 026 321 13 25. Fine Mexican specialties in this usually crowded restaurant.

Aux Baguettes d'Or (15) , Rue de Locarno 1, 026 323 38 41. Classical Chinese and Japanese food.

Un peu plus chic

Brasserie de l'Epée (16) , Planche-Supérieure 39, 026 322 34 07. Half gastronomic restaurant in the down part of the old city of Fribourg ("Basse-Ville"). very fine lunch at reasonable price.

Le pérolles (17) , Bd de Pérolles 18 A, 026 347 40 30. Excellent gastronomic cuisine, very creative and maybe more expensive than the other restaurants in our selection.

Des trois tours (18) , Rte de Bourguillon 15  - 1722 Bourguillon, 026 322 90 40. Very good gastronomic cuisine in a quiet and welcoming area. Located outside of the city (about 3 km from the center). The best way to go is by taxy.

Hôtel de ville (19) , Grand-Rue 6, 026 321 23 67. French gastronomic cuisine. Two steps away from the City House (Hotel de Ville).
